Bhojipura is the only seat which was won by Ittehad-E-Millait Council (IEMC) in 2012. However, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP candidate from the Bareilly Lok Sabha constituency, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, had secured a lead of 26977 votes over his nearest SP rival Ayesha Islam in the Bhojipura assembly segment.
